Mexico's First Female President Set to Take Office
Clauda Sheinbaum Projected to Win Historic Election
Leading Candidate in Line to Make History in Latin America
Mexico is poised to elect its first female president as Claudia Sheinbaum, the former head of the government of Mexico City, is projected to win the upcoming election.
Sheinbaum, who is running for the ruling party Morena, has campaigned on a platform of social equality and economic justice. She has pledged to reduce poverty, improve education, and combat corruption.
If elected, Sheinbaum will become the first woman to lead Mexico in its more than 200-year history. Her victory would also mark a significant milestone in Latin America, where only a handful of women have ever been elected president.
